Sam has been with the Bay Cat and Dog Hospital since August 2007. As an extreme animal lover, and coming from a background with a local animal shelter, she found herself wanting to make a difference at a small animal practice. During her time at Bay Cat and Dog, Sam has been in various roles, from reception and client care, to animal restraint, husbandry and technology. Currently, as a senior staff member, Sam is one of our in-house technicians that prides herself on patient and client care. She is working toward expanding her knowledge in various areas ranging from nutrition to anesthesia, and even small domestic animal behaviour. Quoted as saying, “If I can make each visit or experience just a little less stressful for the animal or owner, then I've done my job.”
In her spare time, she cares (caters to is more accurate) for her 3 rescue fur babies (Jack aka Moo, Nermal and Morrigan) all of whom were either born in the hospital from rescued pregnant mommas, or rescued as adults. As the self-proclaimed “nerd on staff”, she also volunteers free-lance for different comic and fan conventions, designs and makes costumes and props, and even paints when time allows.
