Rescued cats need homes! Come and Fall in Love with One!

Topic: For Adoption |

May 30, 2011 – We are currently nearing our capacity for rescued kittens and cats! If you think you can provide a permanent home to one or more of these loveable little guys and girls, please give us a call or stop by for a visit.

All of these cats were rescued from Hamilton Animal Control, a shelter that takes in all unwanted cats. Unfortunately, because of the failing economy in that area, the shelter is overrun with previously adored cats: due to this high volume, cats must be euthanized if they can’t be placed within three days of their capture or drop-off at the facility. Sadly, the shelter isn’t allowed to open to the public for adoptions. Hamilton Animal Control is relying on Bay Cat Hospital to save as many as we can.

But there is good news – loving families are adopting rescues every week. Check out our Recently Adopted section to see some of our success stories!

Hi. I am Douglas. I am Canadian!

I am a handsome suck. I am constantly kneading. I flop in front of you when you walk into a room because I want my fat belly rubbed.  I had very very bad earmites when I came in  and I was looking pretty rugged when I was rescued but will be looking like Channing Tatum soon ( without the 6 pack)!

I am a purebred torby persian female. I am around 4.5 yrs old. My owner died and I was taken to the shelter. I am nervous little girl because I lost my guardian and I was taken from my treasured home. Please let my beloved guardian’s final wish come true. She only wanted me to live on and to be loved.

I arrived on May 15th! I am a super adorable and friendly grey and white female. I am ready for a life change.  I work very hard here at Bay Cat Hospital greeting everybody who comes to the receptionist desk. They compensate me well with kisses and great meals however I read in magazines that some cats get to be at home and guard the house while watching TV, sleeping with their person and looking out windows. It sounds fun!!!  I’d be purrfect for that life style….although I am purrfect for this one : let’s face it…I am PURRFECT

Matrix (He had us at Hello!) (FIV positive)

Matrix is the coolest cat EVER! He is a wonderfully laid back purrrfect big guy!!!!! He just landed at Bay Cats on September 1st!  He was at HAC for 2+ months and almost euthanized before being saved. In his foster home he loved living with the two other cats and a small dog. He gets  along great with everyone at the clinic too. He apparently loved racing around the foster house( with the dog especially) and now with all the cats and dogs at the hospital. HeLOVES to eat. He loves his cuddles, apparently especially in bed with his human(s). Matrix is very curious and goofy. We love him. |He seems like he would adjust to anything quickly!!!

Cookie is as sweet as the sweetest Cookie

“There is a very special girl named Cookie who is searching for her forever family. Rescued from Hamilton Animal Services where she was scheduled to be put down, Cookie was rescued at the last moment and is now looking for a family to call her own. Ms. Cookie is 4 years young and is spayed/dewormed/flea treated and fully vaccinated. She was surrendered by her previous owner because she was bullied by the resident cat. Even though Cookie has had a hard beginning she has nothing but love in her heart and enjoys the company of humans, other cats and dogs. The only thing standing in her way is she has tested positive for FIV, however she is going to be retested since she is in perfect health and shows no symptoms. If you or anyone you know is interested in giving this girl a foster or ideally a permanent home, please contact us. FIV can easily be managed with a high quality food and low stress environment and FIV+ cats can be in homes with non FIV cats as long as no one is aggressive since it is only transferred through deep bite wounds. Cookie has been waiting too long and loves people too much to not have a home of her own”.
